Hi,
ReplyDeleteI like your post, This is so good. Diabete is terrible. My friend just went to the Emergency Room when she felt dizz and just discovered that her blood suger was at 400. She is from a family with a history of diabetes and never been checked for diabetes before. More education is needed in this area. Good job!
Ahondju,
ReplyDeleteGestational Diabetes is potentially dangerous to its victims, especially those that get it at one point during their child blearing years. The example that comes to my mind is a friend that was diagnosed with it, during her second pregnancy. According to her own words, she thought that the disease was provisional. This was never the case. It dawned on both of us that people who have no family history of a disease, such as my friend had no gestational diabetes disease family history, can be infected. Therefore, it is very important that women should get educated about this disease, lest they deal with its toll. Good health education will help the ability of women knowing how to check their blood glucose, so as to prevent complications associated with diabetes. In order to be enlightened, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), would be a good starting point because they have educational podcasts on diabetes that can be accessed.
